Terms of Use

Last updated October 11, 2026. These terms cover GasCast on the web, the Windows app, iPhone and Android. Please read them carefully: they limit our liability and, in section 15, require most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration instead of in court or in a class action.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and GasCast ("GasCast", "we", "us") about your use of the GasCast website, the installable Windows app, the iPhone app, the Android app, report emails, alerts, Discord and other updates, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who can use GasCast

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to subscribe to GasCast Pro, and at least 13 to use the free version. You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law. If you use GasCast on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. Forecast information only, not advice

GasCast shows weather forecasts, degree days, energy statistics, storage estimates, supply and demand data, and related information, including summaries and alerts written with the help of artificial intelligence. All of it is general information for educational and informational purposes only.

Trading natural gas, energy futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose more than you invest. Past forecasts, past accuracy, and past market reactions don't guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for your own trading and investment decisions and their results. Talk to a licensed professional before making financial decisions.

Pro+ features such as the model consensus, power grid, wind and solar, nuclear outage and CFTC positioning views, and Pro+ alerts are information only, like the rest of GasCast. They describe data and do not tell you when to buy or sell. The trade journal is a personal record-keeping tool. Profit and loss figures it shows are simple estimates based on what you enter and standard contract sizes. They are not official account statements or tax records.

3. Accuracy and availability

Weather forecasts are predictions from computer models and are often wrong, especially more than a few days ahead. GasCast's data comes from third-party models and public sources that can be wrong, late, revised, incomplete or unavailable. Figures such as the weekly storage estimate, power burn, LNG feedgas, corrected forecasts and similar analog seasons are GasCast's own calculations, not official figures, and may differ from official data. AI-written summaries can contain mistakes or leave out important information. Alerts, emails and notifications can be delayed, sent in error, or not sent at all.

The Pro+ model consensus, its bias corrections, and similar blended or adjusted figures are GasCast's own calculations. Bias corrections are based on how each model performed in the past and may not improve, and can worsen, any particular forecast. Power grid, wind and solar, and nuclear outage data come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration and may be delayed, revised or incomplete. CFTC positioning data is published weekly by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and reflects positions as of the Tuesday before release.

We don't promise that the Service will be available at any particular time, will be free of errors, bugs or interruptions, or will be updated within any time frame. We may change, suspend or stop any feature, data source or the whole Service at any time, with or without notice. Never rely on GasCast as your only source of information, and never rely on it for time-critical decisions. Always check official sources such as NOAA, the EIA and your exchange or broker.

4. GasCast Pro on the web

GasCast Pro+

Pro+ is a higher tier that includes everything in Pro plus the Pro+ features listed on our pricing page. Pro+ is offered as early access: some features are available now and others are listed as coming next. We don't promise that any upcoming feature will be released, or when, and features may change. Early access pricing applies to people who subscribe during the early access period and stays the same while their Pro+ subscription remains active; if you cancel and later resubscribe, the then-current price applies. Pro+ has no free trial. If you upgrade from Pro to Pro+ on the web, you are charged right away for the difference for the rest of your current period, and your renewal date stays the same. All other web subscription terms in this section apply to Pro+.

5. GasCast Pro and Pro+ in the phone apps

Subscriptions bought in the iPhone or Android app are billed and managed by Apple or Google under their terms. They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, in your Apple ID or Google Play settings. Introductory offers are limited to one per account. Refunds for app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by GasCast. Upgrades between Pro and Pro+ in the app are handled by Apple or Google under their rules.

6. Your account and acceptable use

Your subscription is personal and for your own use. You're responsible for keeping your email account and sign-in links secure and for all activity under your account. You agree not to:

Discord, Telegram and other free updates may be changed or stopped at any time.

7. Ownership and license

GasCast and its software, design, text, graphics, logos, reports, calculations and compilations of data are owned by GasCast or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal or internal business purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Third-party data remains the property of its owners.

8. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you agree we may use them for any purpose without paying you or owing you anything.

9. Third-party data and services

GasCast uses data from NOAA, ECMWF (through Open-Meteo), the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the National Hurricane Center, pipeline operators and others, and relies on services such as Cloudflare, Stripe, Apple, Google, Discord and Anthropic. Those parties have their own terms, and their data or services may change, contain errors or stop without notice. We aren't responsible for third-party data, websites or services, and links to them aren't endorsements.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using GasCast at any time. We may suspend or end your access, without refund, if you break these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering GasCast Pro entirely, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid web subscription. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 2, 3, 7, 8 and 11 to 17) survive termination.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, DATA, FORECASTS, ESTIMATES, SUMMARIES AND ALERTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, GASCAST AND ITS OWNER, DEVELOPER, AFFILIATES, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND DATA SOURCES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY TRADING OR INVESTMENT LOSSES, LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, ANY CONTENT OR DATA, ANY ERROR, DELAY OR OUTAGE, OR ANY DECISION YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE, AND WHATEVER THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE).

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID GASCAST DIRECTLY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $50.

Some places don't allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud or, where applicable, gross negligence or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Indemnity

To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless GasCast and its owner, developer and service providers from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your trading or investment decisions, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of others.

14. Force majeure

We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of internet, cloud or data providers, changes to or loss of third-party data, natural disasters, power failures, cyberattacks, labor disputes, government actions or war.

15. Disputes and arbitration

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Binding individual arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and GasCast agree that any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. The arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

No class actions. YOU AND GASCAST AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, AND YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing us within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with your name, the email you use with GasCast and a clear statement that you opt out. If this section is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim will be decided only in the courts described in section 16.

Time limit. To the extent allowed by law, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to section 15, any court case will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Cook County or Kane County, Illinois, and you and GasCast consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, you may also have mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country that these Terms can't override.

17. Apple App Store terms

If you use the iPhone app, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement also applies. These Terms are between you and GasCast, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and, to the extent allowed by law, no warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you aren't in a country under a U.S. government embargo or on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
